Ancient Strategies for Modern Lifestyle Caused Diseases

Humanity has battled sickness since the beginning of time. Our deep love for each other sent us on the quest to lose no one to disease and suffering.

It took thousands of years in the West before Hippocrates put together an encyclopedia for to-be physicians however in India a large body of work was orally passed down and codified by 3rd century b.c called 'Charaka Samhita', the seminal work of an Ayurveda physician or perhaps several traveling physicians.

Charaka means one who travels, so the jury is out whether this was the work of one man or many.

Ayurveda is really common sense and a profound observation and understanding of the basic chemical and physical laws of the universe.

Once the basics are understood its easy to put together rituals that help each body type and tailor diet and exercise to fit one's lifestyle.

Understanding one's Ayurveda body type and the risks associated with each body type, doing a sort of SWOT analysis, without exaggeration, has the ability to save our life and save us hundreds of dollars in future healthcare.

I am a Vata body type and I know this makes me susceptible to future bone health issues like arthritis, osteoporosis and nerve degeneration due to drying up of the myelin sheaths.  Its essential I follow rituals and routine, have an oil bath several times a week, add ghee to my diet and keep myself hydrated.

Do you know your body type?

The Truth That Liberates

Yatha pinde tatha brahmande

As is the universe so is in our bodies.

Everything we see in this universe every particle, every cell, every tree, animal, rock, duality runs through it.

We are all two things at the same time, from a subtle to gross level. Wave and a particle, a particle and a wave.

This famous Vedic verse declares the fundamental truth of the nature of the universe and all that is contained within.

What applies to the Universe, the macrocosm, directly applies to the microcosm.

The two parts of what makes duality, is not in opposition but is in unison, like a pair of mating loves.

The two halves are In eternal embrace, in effortless agreement, serving each other, for each other, for the highest good of each other.

Good and bad, reality and non-reality, truth and untruth, cruelty and kindness, chaos and calm,  love and fear exist together in our hearts, in our relationships, the small self and the great self, the ego and the divine soul, are there to aid each other, to express and highlight the other half, to draw out the other, to complete the experience of life here.

In the eternal dance of life, in our days, in our relationships, both are important, relevant and needed to satisfy the other, to justify the existence of the other.

One cannot be without the other.

Trying to rid of one is an act of futility, is going against the natural order of the universe.

Feel the fear, transcend to love.

Feel the chaos, move center to calm.

Hear the ego's voice, follow the higher Self.

Feel repelled, pursue what attracts.

Stop, accept, surrender.

My Panchakarma Experience : The quick and dirty.

If Panchakarma were to be introduced at the Oscars it would be spoken of in the haloed tones reserved for the likes of Sir Ian Murray McKellen and Dame Judith Dench. Its a youth elixir, cellular level cleanser (hold on to your disbelief till you hear the explanation) and flusher out of most bodily and mental maladies.
